Tomsk Region

The Tomsk region is located in Western Siberia in Russia and covers an area of approximately 317,000 square kilometres. The region sits on the Siberian Platform – one of the largest oil-bearing tectonic elements in the world. The region is characterised by Upper Jurassic oil-bearing sandstone horizons at depths of between 2 and 2.5 kilometres.

Nizhnepaninsky block

The license area Nizhnepaninsky is situated along the river Ob in the northwest part of the Tomsk region and covers a total area of 1,533 square kilometres. A Transneft export oil pipeline is located just outside the southwest border of the license area. Power lines also run parallel to this pipeline.

About 500 kilometres of 2D seismic were collected in 1960-1970. In the winter 2010/2011, Petrogrand conducted a 618 kilometres 2D seismic study using modern techniques. Two exploration wells were drilled in 2012. No commercial oil flows were established from the wells.

Muromsky-2

The Muromsky-2 licence area has relinquished in December 2015.

The license area Muromsky-2 covers a total area of 1,125 square kilometres and is located in the northwest part of the Tomsk region, 500 kilometres from Tomsk and 170 kilometres from the town of Strezhevoy. A gas pipeline (Tomskgazprom) passes through the license area and a oil pipeline passes northwest of the license area. The main export oil and gas pipelines are located 30 kilometres east of the license area.

In 2012 Petrogrand collected 354 kilometres of 2D seismic. Based on this data, Petrogrand drilled the exploration well Ragozinskaya-3 in 2012. The well was drilled a depth of 2,588 metres and reached the Paleozoic formation. The well tested only water.
